Project Overview
The school was originally built in 1910 & the Southern extension with two semi-circular rotundas dates from the early 1930’s. The Pevsner Architectural Guide describes the building as a Mannered Baroque building in two colours of brick, with a grand corner entrance & a semi-circular porch with blocked Ionic columns between two turrets. Harrow Council has it listed as a “Heritage Asset” & initially refused consent for replacement aluminium windows. This was appealed & won on the basis that the windows should be replaced on a like for like basis with the new designs replicating the existing design.
3D Aluminium successfully tendered for the project and installation began in the winter of 2022. The design of the windows had to be submitted to the local authority to ensure that the proposal complied with the original design. Acting as main contractor for the scheme, 3D installed the new windows, provided all necessary external access & carried out remedial works such as alterations to the suspended ceilings.
