Project Overview
3D Aluminium complete rooflight installation at John Hampden Grammar School.
3D Aluminium are pleased to have been selected to undertake the replacement of a 74-metre-long rooflight, running along three edges of the Craft, Design & Technology Workshops at John Hampden Grammar School.
The work was undertaken over the summer holiday period to allow a continuous programme of works without disrupting the teaching of pupils in this area of the school. The workshops housed large machinery which would have been extremely costly for the school to move, so 3D Aluminium encapsulated the machines in protective material before building scaffolding to bridge over the machines and provide a working platform for the operatives to safely replace the rooflights.
The replacement rooflight was fabricated from high performance polyester powder coated aluminium and doubled glazed with toughened and laminated safety glass including solar control and low emissivity coatings to provide a highly thermally efficient solution. 10 opening vents were included to be controlled by manually operated winding gear and provide easily controllable rapid ventilation to the areas below.
The John Hampden School has been an important part of education in High Wycombe and the surrounding areas for almost 125 years.
