Project Overview
3D Aluminium carried out this public sector new build extension project at the New Welcome Centre, John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.
3D Aluminium provided design details, fabrication and installation of Technal Curtain Walling, and liaising with the main contractor and architect throughout the project.
Begun just prior to Christmas 2015, the 900 square meter single storey addition to the John Radcliffe Hospital has been constructed for The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust by Beneficial Contracts under a design and build contract. 3D Aluminium were the specialist fabricator of the Technal systems supplied and installed 300 square metres of MX Grid Curtain Walling and FXi windows.
Given the hospital’s international prestige and the high volume of patients treated all year round, there was significant pressure on all parties to not only keep to programme deadlines, but also to achieve very high architectural and performance standards within a tightly controlled budget.
Glazing included Guardian SN70/37 high performance coating to reduce solar gain, Ducoplus45 glazed in tricklevents were also installed to provide background ventilation.
