    Project Overview
    3D Aluminium have carried out an installation of the Technal window system and commercial doors plus some Aluprof fire rated windows & doors to the Science Block.
    The scheme included flat roofing, cladding, new windows & doors and refurbishment of other areas. Working closely with the contractor, 3D successfully managed to complete the installation without any significant disruptions to the school.
    The existing windows were removed and replaced with the Technal Dualframe 75 Si casement window system, which incorporated opening top hung windows, fixed lights and aluminium composite panels. Solar control glass was used on elevations that had previously experienced overheating. Low level windows included folding openers and high-level windows included Teleflex chain operators. There was also a requirement to supply several 30-minute fire rated windows, which the Aluprof MB-78EI system was used. Existing doors were replaced with the Technal Stormframe II Thermally Broken Commercial Doors plus a fire rated Aluprof MB-78EI door.
    Lawrence Sheriff School is a selective boys’ grammar school with a co-educational sixth form. The school was founded in 1878 and named after Lawrence Sheriff, an Elizabethan grocer who served Queen Elizabeth I. In September 2014 the school converted to academy status and has been expanded greatly over the last fifteen years, including the refurbishment to the Science Block. As part of the most recent expansion the school prioritises students eligible for pupil premium (whether via free school meals, service premium, looked after or previously looked after). The school has over 1100 pupils.
