    Project Overview

3D Aluminium carried out the installation of replacement Aluminium Windows, Doors and Curtain Walling to the NHS Blood and Transplant Building in Southampton.

3D Aluminium installed over 500m2 of Comar 6EFT curtain walling and Comar 5Pi windows across two phases having been appointed as principle contractor by the NHS Blood and Transplant department.

To minimise disruption to the active blood and transplant building, works were undertaken at weekends and out of hours. The installation had zero impact on the ability for the NHS to carry out blood donations, and storage of blood donors. The project involved 3D Aluminium providing high levels protection internally to avoid unacceptable levels of dust disrupting the laboratory environment and sensitive machinery. 3D employed a specialist sub-contractor to carry out a deep clean of each area prior to handover to the client.

Works also involved the removal of asbestos containing materials with chrysotile found in the existing internal window boards.
