Project Overview
We recently completed a refurbishment project at Leafield Village Hall and Nursery, delivering a cost-effective upgrade to four entrance doors while maintaining the building’s existing character. The project was completed on a modest budget, with the client looking to modernise the entrances whilst improve safety for visitors. The completed refurbishment has provided Leafield Village Hall and Nursery with safer, more modern entrance doors that better serve the needs of the community, nursery staff, children, and visitors.
The client required refurbishment works to four entrance doors that would:
- Improve day-to-day safety and usability
- Provide a more modern appearance
- Incorporate updated safety features suitable for younger users and visitors
- Deliver long-term durability within a limited budget
As a busy local community facility, the works also needed to be completed efficiently and with minimal disruption.
We supplied and installed new Aluminium entrance door systems that achieved both the practical and aesthetic goals of the project.
The upgraded doors included:
- Modernised door designs to improve the overall appearance of the entrances
- Panic bar hardware to enhance emergency exit safety and accessibility
- Anti-finger trap bulb stiles to provide additional protection for younger nursery users and visitors
By carefully balancing specification and budget, we were able to provide a solution that improved safety, appearance, and functionality without unnecessary cost.
The result is a refreshed entrance solution that combines improved safety features, updated aesthetics, and sustainable project delivery, all achieved within the client’s budget requirements.
Supporting local projects and community facilities is an important part of our approach.
For this project, we prioritised sustainability and local involvement throughout the process by:
- Using local fitters to carry out the installation works
- Completing deliveries in-house to reduce transport impact and improve efficiency
- Responsibly removing and recycling waste materials wherever possible to minimise landfill
These measures helped support the local economy while reducing the environmental impact of the project.
Jane Digby, Chair – Leafield Village Hall Managemnt Committee, commented:
“I just wanted to write to Thank all at 3D aluminium who were involved in the design, build and installation of our 4 new doors.
Everyone here is really pleased with the result. The new doors are much higher quality than the previous ones and I have certainly noticed there are no longer any drafts across the floor when I am sat in the hall; hoping that we will see a difference in our heating bills next winter too. They blend in so well that many Hall users have not even noticed!
Jodie has reported that they are very pleased with the new PreSchool front door – her exacting specifications were followed to the letter.”
