3D Aluminium are currently carrying out the installation of aluminium windows and doors as part of the CAT A refurbishment to 21 Dartmouth Street, being undertaken by MAC Group.
Having been heavily involved with the pre-contract design process with MAC Group and Ben Adams Architects, 3D Aluminium were able to provide solutions to the architect’s design intent without compromising the overall budget for the scheme.
The aluminium windows and doors have been powdercoated using the Interpon D2525 Texture range in Noir 2300, providing a sand-blasted aspect. Providing excellent levels of weathering resistance, the series offers significantly higher gloss retention and resistance to colour change, combined with maximum film integrity, to ensure long term cosmetic and functional protection. This project is the first application of its kind in the UK using SAPA Building System Profiles.
Due to an external fire escape access route to the rear elevation, a proportion of this scheme has been installed with the Aluprof MB-78EI 30-minute fire resistant windows in accordance with Building Regulations Approved Document B (Fire Safety). In order to keep the same sightlines across this elevation, a number of windows which do not require fire rating have also been installed using the Aluprof system with non-fire rated glass to keep a uniform appearance.
In co-ordination with SAPA Building Systems, 3D Aluminium fabricated and installed several commercial entrance doors at 3500mm high utilising the Sapa STII door system.
21 Dartmouth Street is a 9 floor redevelopment located in St James’s Park, London, providing approximately 53,000 sq ft of offices.
